A critical Analysis on the Narration of Shuraih Al-Qadhi's Fatwa on the Murdering of Imam Hossein (AS)

| Issuing the permission to murder Imam Hossein (AS) with the fatwa of one of the famous historical figures, Shuraih Al-Qadhi, is considered as one of the famous Ashura events. The importance of the analysis of this historical-narrative report is due to the fact that some have related the event of Ashura to the issuance of the fatwa and other factors are overlooked. The findings show that the personality and weak and cautious performance of Shuraih is the reason for the fame of this report, while the textual criticism of the said report shows that the issuance of such a fatwa based on multiple evidences is a source of problems and controversy. The purpose of this article, which is organized with an analytical-critical approach, is not simply to remove the accusation of such a situation from Shuraih's lap, but such a report is considered as an examination of an analyzed concept. Therefore, after validating the existing narrative types and analyzing the sources, the author tries to criticize the text and the surrounding evidences. The findings show that despite the existence of many contradictions and conflicts, the use of the term fatwa is not related to the life period of Imam Hussein (AS) and the content and type of literature of this fatwa is not proportional to the literature of the first century of Hijri. |
