The Cultural Function of the School in Bukhara (10th - 14th Centuries AH / 15th - 20th Centuries AD)

The introduction of Islam to the territory of the Volga Bulgars accelerated from the end of the 3rd century AH/early 10th century AD, and it was not long before the Volga-Ural region became one of the dynamic centers of Islamic culture. This was important because of the presence and education of scholars and graduates who had studied in the religious schools of Bukhara throughout the Islamic period, especially in the upcoming period. The current research intends to investigate the cultural function of the school in Bukhara in the discussed period using historical sources and implementing a descriptive-analytical method. The findings showed that the graduates of Bukhara schools played an important and significant role in the expansion of Islamic culture in Aqsa Turkestan, Qabchag plain and Tatar and Bulgarian lands through their participation in social, governmental, scientific positions and cultural exchanges with other professors and scholars, as well as authoring and publishing religious books.
