Abstract: (937 Views)
In the early Islamic centuries, the Jazirah was a center of scientific and cultural activities in the translation movement and the presence of Sunni and Shiite Muslim scholars and scientific and cultural elders in the cities of this state. With the presence of a large population of Shiites, Sadats, and Alawites in Jazirah, which formed part of its population composition, and the formation of Shiite governments, Shiite scientific and cultural activities also flourished in this state. Despite this Shiite movement in Jazirah, an important scientific and cultural center and a specific Shiite school of thought did not form in any of the cities of this province. The reason for this is a question that in this article, the reasons for this, along with the scientific and cultural position of Shiism in Jazirah, are examined and explained with a descriptive-analytical approach. The research findings show that Shiism is an active and somewhat widespread movement in Jazirah; however, due to the existing political and religious conditions, the weak performance of local Shiite scholars and rulers, a brilliant scientific and cultural center and a Shiite school specific to Jazirah did not emerge.
