Abstract: (2006 Views)
Islamic civilization in the east of the Islamic world faced an unprecedented crisis and collapsed in its historical course after the invasion of the Mongols and the fall of the Khwarazmshah government and the Abbasid caliphate. In this critical situation, various opportunities and factors were provided for changes and reconstruction of the Islamic civilization. This article investigated the special role of Khawaja in the mentioned crisis using a qualitative method. It was concluded that the recognition of the civilizational crisis, his civilizational view and some of his civilizational actions such as preserving human and cultural capital, creating the Maragheh cultural center and the policy of interaction with the scholars and thinkers of Islamic religions have been the most important characteristics of Khajah's role.
